When i was younger, i was very careful (in other words, stingy) and selective with where and when i use my polaroid camera as instax films are very expensive especially to a jobless teenager like me.

But in 2015, i became more generous with my instax films as i fell in love with capturing candid moments of my friends & family and watch it magically develop instantly in my hands, by itself. Every single shot is so precious and intentional that i can't help but to have a nostalgic feeling whenever i browse through them. The rustic and whimsical effects are also what make it more unique.

Modern photography has enabled us to capture multiple shots of a composition in just a few seconds, allowing us to have the privilege to pick the best among the other 2000 pictures of the same frame and of course touch up before uploading them else where. It can be a blessing but sometimes i prefer pictures that are RAW!

THE WOONIES

Growing up with four siblings had made my childhood an interesting journey where i was constantly given the chance to live life with fuelling curiosity and creativity. Together, we were really fascinated with the world around us and would find little things (even in our house) rather ...engaging.

My siblings and i would spend hours at the garden plucking all sorts of plants to smash it up with a rock to produce herbal soup. We knew plucking those plants and ruining the garden will cause trouble with mum, so we would store the precious herbal soup into a container and hide it underneath a tree to make sure no one gets in trouble, and even if we do, we would blame it on our brother.

The drain outside our house was our mini zoo, with no entrance fee and closing hours, the older siblings would jump in to catch fishes while Melanie and i would just stand at the corner and watch with envy.

The night was always the BEST as we would pull our mattresses into our parents' room to have a MASSIVE slumber party and sometimes we would have a mini performance where the four girls would play as 'Olive' (Popeye's girlfriend from 'Popeye the Sailor Man') where we were getting bullied by 'Bluto' (played by my dad) and was rescued by our hero, Popeye (played by our brother), it was our way of having a bedtime story!

Having four siblings was indeed like having four best friends who are 24-7 with you, so i must say i am a very lucky girl to have them in my life x and yes, i am incredibly homesick as i am writing this post.

My 21st

Things that i have learnt after organizing my 21st Birthday party:

- Good food is one of the major keys to a decent party! I am so glad that Ipoh Garden Restaurant provided high quality catering food that made my friends crave for more.

- Homemade tuna sandwiches were loved by gym junkies

- Spotlight offers $0.99 per helium balloon (strings included)! The original plan was to purchase a disposable helium tank that costs $40 which turns out to be a more time consuming and costly option!

- Helium balloons still make my day and I'm glad I didn't splurge on unicorn helium balloons.

- Kmart sells the typical red plastic party cups and offers the cheapest price.

- Dorritoes will only be opened when people start getting tipsy

- Pony Piñata makes me aggressive and its not really flattering.

- Finding a white dress is harder than i thought!

- I have amazing siblings and friends who helped planning and making my 21st party such a memorable one and I'm forever grateful for their unconditional love.

- And to friends who cleaned up the house ( including ppl's puke and pee) while I was dead asleep?!! I really COULD NOT ask for more , really.

-Ultimately, I have learnt that a good party simple requires people who you truly treasure being gathered at one place.
