this is getting very depressing

Tuesday 27 November 2012

I'm official DOOMED! been lazing around in art lessons throughout the term. i really thought i had a concept but when i FINALLY decided to put my ideas to paper yesterday, the outcome was beyond different from what i expected it to be.

it looks way too depressing, not well composed and rather unskillful. i even edited the photo above to make it less visible.

its already Week8, and my concept is constantly changing. maybe I'm over thinking. but whatever it is, i need to find a solution asap. or else i will fail my favorite subject.

in a way, disappointed at myself.

URBANSCAPES 2012
i do believe that by having greater value to yourself and to your society is to have fun, not an ignorant type of fun but just a meaningful and simple type of fun. see things that will inspire you each day, increase knowledge by making new friends, having fart competitions and just really enjoy your life.

i also do believe that the more fun you share with others, the more fun you will have. hence why i have these photos:

introducing Ernest Zacharevic:one of the best street artists that you will ever see

Dancing with Keith Haring

Friday 23 November 2012

'Human Form' was last term's art topic. i was no doubt cursing the topic as fine art was never my style or shall we say i can't draw? haha. but i felt so much better after discussing this matter with Mr Ellis, he encouraged me to think outside the box and produce a piece that is contemporary and something that defines : ME

and so i did:
MUSIC, DANCE, LOVE,UNITE

i haven't got a name for this piece yet! But through the use of colors, texture, symbolic elements and lines, i hope the audiences are able to relate and understand the meaning behind my final piece.

the human figure drawn inside the circle is actually inspired by Keith Haring, i appropriated his work and made it contemporary with a touch of stephy's style where unicorns and drippy effect are included.

to make my work more unique, i'hv also introduced LDC lights into it. the process of drilling holes and cutting the wood was really time consuming but it was worth it as the lights really made my work more believable and magical!
here are some photos:

feeling extremely honored to have been elected as a
School Captain for AISM in 2013

i couldn't have done it without my support team! my family, my backbone- best friends, teachers and most of all the courage and strength that God has given me.

The year 2013 will no doubt be the most hectic year of my entire school life but i believe with the undying faith and magical spirit around me, i will get through it x

fragile heart

Sunday 18 November 2012

been such a bad week. never knew the real definition of 'bad' until today. too much unexpected events occuring around me. happy, sad, grief , fear, anger and some still ignorant- it takes too much energy and strength to jungle all these expected emotions into every particular unexpected event, my heart is just not that strong after all.  but then again, it will all be better tomorrow and God will guide me through this rocky path.

maybe, maybe God is trying to tell me something. life is fragile? we are born to die? i don't know. but life IS fragile, hearts get crashed and broken every second in this world, and one day yours will eventually be one of the statistic. its my first time experiencing lost, and this feeling is not really pleasant.

may your soul rest you peace.

Live a life that matters.
Ready or not, someday it will all come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.
Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.
It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.
Your grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear.
So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will expire.
The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It won't matter where you came from, or on what side of the tracks you lived, at the end.
It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant
Even your gender and skin colour will be irrelevant.

 So what will matter?
How will the value of your days be measured?

What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built;

Not what you got, but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success, but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice
that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.
What will matter is not your competence, but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone.
What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you.
What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.

Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident.
It's not a matter of circumstance, but of choice.

Choose to live a life that matters.

Jonathan Darby

Thursday 1 November 2012

Jonathan Darby is probably one of the best and the most talented contemporary artist alive on this planetttt ! my heart never fails to break whenever i browse through his work x

Sorry, can't find a photo of Jonathan Darby, he likes to be mysterious and all.

the use of dark shades, collaged photos with symbolic elements really allow the audiences to feel as if the child's face is peering out of the canvas in the dark asking for a help and comfort that seems vague in their world.

With Darby it is difficult to be definitive as he really encourage his audiences to challenge their mind on political and economic issue that is present in today's society.

oh and, his materpieces that usually deal with socio-political and humanitarian are portrayed through children as he believes that the future relies greatly on them.
